Acknowledging the vital life-saving contribution medical transport companies provide to communities, ETF has expanded its funding availability to include air and ground medical transport services. ETF is a national program geared specifically to fund uninsured trauma stay and trauma physicians. Through Medical Transport Compensation (MTC), a program funded by ETF, applications are now being accepted from EMS companies.
Recognizing the significant losses that medical transports companies incur from uncompensated services provided to the community on a daily basis, MTC will process and review claims up to three years old. Best efforts must have been made to collect from any and all sources before claims are submitted to MTC.
The fund will reimburse the following services:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) Level 1
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) Level 2
- ICD-90-CM codes within 800 – 959.9
Upon claim approval, funding will be issued within 15 working days. Claims will be reimbursed at a percentage of billed charges in proportion to the company’s bad debt as stated on the application. Click on the following link to apply: Medical Transport Compensation Application.
